NEW HELLBASTARD MINI-ALBUM/E.P. 2008/2009
THE NEED TO KILL – NEW HELLBASTARD CD………..
Work on the new/next HELLBASTARD cd for ANIMOSITY RECORDS (U.S.A) begins in JULY 2008 with a release date scheduled for JANUARY 2009. Tentatively titled : “THE NEED TO KILL….”
Said disc will include BRAND NEW and OLDER material,…..slightly re-vamped, yet still not that far removed from the original work,.. (just tighter, more aggressive and more “mature”………)
At the helm of PRODUCTION values is none other than DAVID DRAPER, an unsung hero of “F.F.G” studios based in Gloucester, U.K.
High hopes for a MASSIVE SOUND have been the order of the day.
During the recording of the cd the band will partake in a video shoot (first time ever for HELLBASTARD to do this in the bands career !) and this DVD will be available as a “CD-EXTRA” on the new disc,.this is the hope that HELLBASTARD have to give their “fans” something MORE for their hard earned cash…………….
The chosen track will be finalised upon the near-completion of the new recording….
Since the arrival in 2008 of the new 3-piece ‘Bastard line up (Scruff/Joint/Ashley) it has been our full intention to employ the genius of a 2nd guitarist (Eric Thompson / Ex – Papsmear, Las Vegas/U.S.A) so, because of geographical complications it has been arranged that HELLBASTARD BASSPLAYER (Ashley) will undertake ALL lead guitar duties on the new CD. Ashley is a talented GUITARIST/SOLOIST and therefore this seems to be the most practical thing to do. HELLBASTARD may yet have to employ the services of a SESSION BASSPLAYER whilst touring extensively and ASHLEY will move to the more “comfortable” place of 2nd guitarist during the shows lined up in 2009 – (Europe/Scandinavia/Czech Republic/Germany etc).
In time ASHLEY will take over from bass if the proposed 2nd guitarist situation does not correct itself in the near future,.but for now the band are ploughing ahead with the original concept of ERIC THOMPSON on 2nd guitar duties.
All dates for the EUROPEAN tour will be posted here on the OFFICIAL HELLBASTARD WEBSITE “hellbastard. co. uk” and the official MYSPACE site in the coming months,……the much talked about USA 2009 TOUR with Texas’ DISSENT is still being finalised and very much anticipated by the band themselves and many the world over,….
